Kobby Ashong Named in 2022 Top 50 Young CEOs in Ghana

Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana’s fastest growing printing press business, ASTA PRINT Hub, Kobby Mawufemor Ashong, has been named in the 2022 Top 50 Young CEOs in Ghana. The prestigious list is compiled annually by Avance Media & YCEO Africa, one of Ghana’s most credible rating firms.

Kobby has led the impressive growth of ASTA Print Hub from a small manual printing business in Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana to a leading large scale digital printing business employing over a dozen people. Beyond the printing business, Kobby has also diversified into video production, and custom-made fashion items by establishing ARX Studios and ASTA Wear respectively.

Commenting on the award, Kobby expressed his gratitude to the organisers for the incredible honour and pledged to continue innovating to serve the business needs of his clients.

“First and foremost, I thank God for sustaining me and guiding me to achieve great things to honour His name. I also thank the organisers, Avance Media for recognising my work and bestowing upon me this great honour. I dedicate this to my business partner and all my hardworking staff who work to make ASTA Print Hub the most reliable printing press in the business. We shall continue to do even better to keep all our customers and stakeholders happy,” he stated.

Notable figures who were also mentioned in the Top 50 list include Kofi Amoa-Abban, CEO of oil and gas giants, Rigworld, Sammy Awuku, Director-General of National Lotteries Authority and Baba Sadiq, CEO of 3Music.

This honourable recognition is Kobby’s fourth* award in two years following earlier wins as CEO of the Year in the Printing Category at the Ghana Industry CEOs Awards 2020, Baron of the Print and Advertising Sector at the 2021 Business Executive Excellence Awards and the Innovative Print and Design Award at the 2021 Ghana Leadership Awards. On the other hand, Kobby’s business, ASTA Print Hub was also honoured at the 2020 Ghana Development Awards for its contributions to the growth and development of Ghana and won the Online Branding Company of the Year award at the 2022 Social Media Entertainment Awards (SOMEA).

Happy 72nd Birthday to the Asantehene ; Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II

On this day, we celebrate the Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II as he turns 72 years.

Enstooled on 26 April 1999, Osei Tutu II (born Nana Barima Kwaku Duah; 6 May 1950) is the 16th Asantehene. By name, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is in direct succession to the 17th-century founder of the Ashanti Empire, Otumfuo Osei Tutu I. He is also the Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is the Grand Patron of the Grand Lodge of Ghana and the Sword Bearer of the United Grand Lodge of England.

20th anniversary celebration

Osei Tutu II’s 20th anniversary commemoration took place on 21 April 2019, at the Dwabirem of the Manhyia Palace. This was at the grand durbar of the Akwasidaekese. Dignitaries like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Michael Ashwin Satyandre Adhin the vice president of Suriname and Torgbui Sri, the Awomefia of the Anlo state were in attendance. Other dignitaries included Diplomats and royals from Namibia, Kuwait, Germany, China, Morocco, Latvia, Botswana and Palestine. On 19 April 2019,there was a sod cutting ceremony to launch the construction of a hostel at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The next day the sod was cut for some other projects like the GUSS Sports Complex, Beach Soccer Park and Hospital Car Park

Asantehene Recognitions and Acknowledgements

The Asantehene is highly revered in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Osei Tutu has frequently commented on the work of Ghanaian politicians.

He received international media attention after some of the Ashanti crown jewels were allegedly stolen from an Oslo hotel in October 2012 when he was attending a conference in the Norwegian capital.

In August 2019, he celebrated the Akwasidae with the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom whilst on a short visit there. Dignitaries at the function included Paapa Owusu Ankomah, the Ghana High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

In February 2020, he became the first person to receive the ‘Pillar of Peace Award’. This was in recognition of the effort that he put into restoring peace to the Kingdom of Dagbon which spanned nearly two decades.

He has also received the 2019 CIMG President’s Special Award.

Young entrepreneur Kobby Ashong honoured at Ghana Leadership Awards

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA – Kobby Ashong Mawufemor, Chief Executive Officer of ASTA Print Hub, has won the Innovative Print and Design Award at the 2021 Ghana Leadership Awards.

Ashong,  who is among the 2021 Top 50 Young entrepreneurs in Ghana, continue to make significant strides in digital printing employing hundreds across various branches in the country. The entrepreneur, who also owns ARX Studios, a multimedia venture, said his dream was to be Africa’s best in design, production, photography, and branding consultancies. He said that ambition would be achieved through partnerships with like-minded entrepreneurs willing to step up and take digital printing to the next level.

Mr Ashong recently won the Baron of Print and Advertising at the 2021 Business Executive Excellence Awards.
